big news, big changes.

There have been lots of great things to celebrate in the Seitler House over the last few weeks. The first is that…

Lilypie Pregnancy tickers

Now, I wasn’t really paying attention to my cycle, so I don’t know that this is accurate yet. But it’s a good guess. Right now, the expected due date is around January 22nd.

I was shocked and in denial when my body started giving me those “baby signals.” I thought “Oh, I must have ate something that didn’t agree with me.” But when it got to be a few weeks of feeling “bleh” it was time to give in and take a test.

There are about three years between each of my kids. Between Katie and Joshua there are 3 years and 3 months. Between Joshua and Penny there are 2 years, 11 1/2 months (their birthdays are only two weeks apart). Penny and Baby #4 will only be 18-19 months apart! So, this was a shock all it’s own. I thought I had a dependable little calendar for my internal baby clock and that I had another year and a half to enjoy some time off. Looks like… no. SURPRISE!

But I know that I’ll get used to it—that God will give me the grace I need for each day, even the bad ones. And I’m excited to know that we’ll have another wonderful little person in our family. I do love having a big family! I’m just not so much a fan of actually being pregnant. The sickness, the exhaustion, the weakness, the feeling that your body is betraying you and not acting like you expect it to. Not fun!

Well, Baby #4 has also brought along some other changes in our family. The first thing we realized is that we are going to need a bigger car, since we are now out of seats. It’s actually about time to get ourselves a mini van!

We also realized that it was time to put the freelance endeavor on hold. I’m sure that anyone who’s freelanced can relate! It’s very hard to live week to week like this, not knowing what your income will be or where your next job will come from. I certainly think that God blessed this last year and a half by enabling us all to work from home and pay our bills. But there were other things we had to put off, like dental checkups and car tune-ups… and those things can only be put off so long before something goes wrong on ya, you know? So, it’s a relief to know that a steady paycheck is now in our future.

Travis started his new job today! He’s doing web design. He’s very excited and he already loves the work environment at his new company. And the office is a few miles down the road, a straight shot from the house. There are so many great things about his new job that have us dancing with joy. We really feel God’s blessing in this whole process. We are so thankful!

Wow, congratulations on the baby! I did the age gap in reverse–had the 18 month gap first and a 3 years and 1 week gap next. Definitely pros and cons to both of them and I can’t really say I prefer one over the other.:)

Congrats on the new job, too. Sounds perfect.
