the blues.

It’s that time of year again… time for the CHA Blues.

Having gone to the San Diego Comic-Con a few years ago, I know what I’m missing. Travis was at Comic-Con representing his company and their Disney comics. While he worked, I got to walk around and visit all the booths and see all the crazy costumes. I wish I would have known ahead of time that I should have come to San Diego with blue hair. I would have felt more natural mixing with the crowd then.

So, with those memories of how cool it all was in my mind, it just hurts to know that there is a fabulous convention for the industry I love going on next week… far, far away in Chicago… and that last year IT WAS IN ORLANDO!!! I think that is what hurts the most. Why, oh, why could they not have waited for 2010 to try out a different venue?! This year would have been perfect for me to go… I’m not terribly pregnant and I’m not nursing a baby. Sigh…

So, I have the blues. Trying not to dwell on it, though. And Travis can relate because he’s got the San Diego Blues. Oh, what a lovely pair of geeks we are!

I’ve been rather busy with work this week. I had a lovely new collab kit come out on Thursday. I’m working to finish up a new collab for release next Thursday as well. And then I had my arm twisted by a good friend and I will be guesting at another shop in August. Preparing yet another collab with said friend for release on the 1st. And then I’m also working on a grab bag!

Someone must have sent some “mojo” my way, because I’ve been happily working on bits and pieces for all these projects this week. I feel productive! Thankfully I don’t feel overwhelmed—yet. Ha! I think it’s because collabing with another designer is such an inspiring process. You know what you’re making together and you get to see what each other is working on. Very motivating! Much easier than just winging it on your own.

Well, back to Photoshop for me! 🙂

Glad to hear you are so productive! Woohoo! As for CHA, I’ve never been but would love to go. Had no idea it was in Chicago. It’s so close to me, but I’m afraid to drive there… so if you want to fly here and drive us there, you’re welcome to stay with me. LOL 😉

Oh and I’m in Milwaukee… cheaper to fly here generally. 😉
